ARTICLE: Woman accused of duping the elderly in bail money scheme (The Virginian-Pilot - HamptonRoads.com/PilotOnline.com): "A woman has been charged in what police say was a scam in which elderly people were encouraged to turn over bail money for friends or relatives, police say.
Police said the woman charged is Lacora Davis, 28.
An affidavit for a search warrant says she identified herself as a bail bondswoman when she called an elderly man and told him a close friend had been arrested. The man withdrew money from his bank and gave her $1,500, the warrant states.
The warrant states that Davis is suspected of scamming at least six other elderly people in the area, netting about $5,000."
