La. Bail Bond Agent Accused of Taking Premiums: "The Louisiana Department of Insurance announced that a Baton Rouge-area bail bond agent has been arrested and issued a cease and desist order and summary suspension of his insurance license for allegedly misappropriating insurance premiums in three parishes.

Adrian Remand Jackson, age 34, was arrested by the State Police Insurance Fraud Unit investigators on 45 counts of felony theft and 29 counts of insurance fraud. At that time he also was served by Department of Insurance Fraud Section investigators with an order to cease and desist from engaging in the business of insurance and a summary suspension of his insurance/bail bonds license.

Jackson is alleged to have misappropriated or otherwise converted to his own use more than $21,000 he received in bail bond premium payments. The bonds were written in East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana and West Feliciana parishes in 2005 and 2006."
